Nervousness is rising - we start with the floor slab!
Crispin is all excited. It's a matter of drilling the holes for attaching the cabin to the chassis, and then sawing out the wheel housings. One wrong cut, and we'd need a new floor plate, which would mean a lot of time and money. So Crispin prefers to measure 5x more. Okay, one last time ;-)
..and then the drill is applied. All in all, the cabin will be mounted to the chassis with 22 screws. So 22 holes correctly measured and drilled (and that on 2.2.2022 :-)
Plate on, let's see if everything fits - how exciting! Whew, it looks good, the plate fits.
The next step is to cut out the wheel housings. So again it's time to measure... ...then the plunge hand saw and the jigsaw are used. The result looks great in any case! Whether everything fits will be seen later.
The bottom plate comes down again. Tanja puts some underbody protection on the chassis. Crispin will also install an air suspension. The first steps are done, many more will follow.
An exciting day comes to an end. We are still philosophizing about the interior, but more about that later.
Stay tuned,
Tanja & Crispin
