... our basic vehicle for the construction of our camper van!
Now some of you might be thinking: "What, this is supposed to be a camper van?" This train of thought would definitely be understandable. And indeed, it will become our new home in the next few months.
It is December and we are travelling 700 km north by train. Here, a few months ago, we got the cheapest offer for our Ford Transit without bodywork. A new vehicle with all-wheel drive.
In order for us to be allowed to drive the vehicle home again, we need not only the day registration (which we have of course) but also a wheel cover at the rear, otherwise the vehicle would not be considered roadworthy. What did we do for this? We quickly organised two wheel housings, Crispin took beams and tools with him on the train, so that we could install the wheel housings on site. Okay, probably not an everyday action. But within an hour the matter was settled. Then quickly the contractual issues, and off we go with our new car 700 km back home. Hey, our first drive, mega exciting!
After 18 hours on the road we are tired but very happy back home. Now the adventure of building a camper can begin!
In the next posts we will show you our progress again and again - we are also excited about what awaits us, because as we all know, theory is different from practice.
